We invite you to admire with us the most beautiful wedding dresses, which not only impressed us with their splendor, but also entered the history of fashion!
Grace Kelly
After Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer learned about the upcoming wedding of Grace Kelly and Prince of Monaco, the owners decided to make the actress a luxurious gift - a wedding dress. The basis of the outfit was a classic full skirt, bodice decorated with Valenciennes lace, and a high collar. The whole dress was literally strewn with natural pearls, which gave along with a special charm and elegance. Pink boats, lace hairpins and a prayer book, which was considered a necessary attribute for any bride, complemented the image.
Grace Kelly's wedding gown instantly became an icon of 20th-century wedding fashion, largely due to the fact that it again brought into fashion the princess's image, forgotten during the Great Depression and wars. Now the legendary outfit can be seen at the Museum of Art in Philadelphia.
Audrey Hepburn
The legendary wedding dress Audrey Hepburn was created by the equally legendary fashion designer Hubert de Givenchy wedding attire.Having become a symbol of the fashion of the 50s, the dress consisted of a fluffy skirt, corset and sleeves that resemble lanterns in shape. Givenchy used an exceptionally light white chiffon to create the outfit. The image of the bride was complemented by a floral diadem skillfully woven into the hair. It is interesting that Audrey abandoned classic pumps in favor of lightweight comfortable ballet shoes, which subsequently became wildly popular.
Marilyn Monroe
The most famous blonde of the XX century Marilyn Monroe for a long time looking for her soul mate and got married three times. The most memorable was the wedding with baseball player Joe Di Maggio, because it was for her that Monroe chose the famous dress, which could not be called solemn. The actress appeared at the wedding ceremony in a brown dress of a simple cut, which she bought in a small shop for a modest 250 dollars. Interestingly, after many years it was sold a hundred times more expensive to a private collector and a big admirer of Marilyn. The fate of other wedding dresses of the actress, more traditional, was not so happy. None of them have yet been purchased.
Jacqueline Kennedy
To make a dress for John F. Kennedy’s wife, designers needed an absolutely incredible amount of silk taffeta and a unique, insanely expensive, buttenberg ribbon lace. The bride’s head was adorned with a veil, which inherited Jacqueline by inheritance and an incredibly beautiful tiara, in which lace and small flowers of an orange tree were woven. Family jewelry complemented the image - and a diamond bracelet donated by the future spouse.
Despite the fact that the wedding dress of the first lady became a cult for several generations, the girl herself was not enthusiastic about him. As her daughter, Carolyn later admitted, Jackie thought it looked too much like a lampshade.
Princess Diana
The wedding dress of Diana Spencer was created for anyone at that time by young designers - spouses David and Elizabeth Emanuel. At one of the photo shoots, Diana was delighted with the blouses from their collection and asked the designers to sew a wedding dress for her.
For a wedding dress, designers ordered more than 40 meters of drapery fabric, eight of which were used to create a luxurious train. A fluffy white skirt was complemented by a whalebone corset and a diamond-decorated belt. In case of unforeseen circumstances, the designers created an exact copy of the dress, which after the death of the princess went under the hammer for 170 thousand dollars.
Nicole Kidman
Initially, Nicole was supposed to get married in an outfit from Chanel, as she was the face of the brand, but in the end she chose a dress from the inimitable Nicolas Gesquier, who currently heads the Balenciaga Fashion House. A light and romantic outfit in the Empire style was complemented by branded boats from Christian Louboutin.
Initially, Nicole Kidman wanted to sell the dress at auction and give all the money to charity, but the adopted daughter of the actress, Isabella, dissuaded her, saying that she would certainly get married in this dress.
Kate Middleton
Recognized as an icon of contemporary bridal fashion, Kate Midolton’s wedding dress was created by creative director of Alexander McQueen Fashion House, Sarah Barton. The outfit consisted of a Victorian corset, a satin skirt with pleating elements and an impressive train. To decorate the royal outfit, lace flowers made in the form of a rose, clover and thistle were chosen - the main symbols of the United Kingdom. Cartier complemented the image with a tiara - a gift from Elizabeth II, Alexander McQueen shoes and diamond earrings from designer Robinson Pelam.
As the press service of the Buckingham Palace later noted, Kate was directly involved in the creation of the dress and completely controlled the process.
