Old straw rugs and napkin coasters, as well as colored decorative straws, are excellent material for both summer handbags and the decoration of hats, sandals and other accessories.

COSMETICS FROM STRAWS
Or a wallet - as you prefer! In any case, they used to be an ordinary straw rug!

Size: approx. 10 x 7 cm
YOU WILL NEED Old straw rug; thin felt and gasket half-flizofiks size. 10 x 17 cm; artificial decorative straws (raffia) of white, purplish-pink, turquoise and orange colors; threads for embroidery; embroidery needle; 2 sewing buttons, threads for sewing.
HOW TO MAKE Iron (connect) the straw rug and felt using a gasket for the part of the bag. Embroider the edge with a length of 10 cm with embroidery stitches with thread for embroidery, the depth of the stitches is 5 mm, the interval between them is 5 mm.
Wrap the embroidered edge 7 cm (side with felt inward), the rest will be a valve.
Sew the side edges of the bag with splint stitches, then sew the edges of the valve.
Embroider colored straws on the front side of the handbag, tie the ends of the straw in the middle of the flower (on the outside) with a knot when changing colors.
Screw the valve down. Sew buttons to the valve and to the front of the bag.

VIETNAMS "SUNS"
Straw pom-poms, in the center of which are colored pebbles - this decor will make ordinary summer flip flops a haute couture model.
YOU WILL NEED Flip Flops, artificial straw (raffia) beige; artificial coral and yellow stones of medium size for sewing; 2 large stones "under the turquoise" for sewing; 2 sets for the manufacture of pom poms diam. 6.5 and 8.5 cm; threads for sewing.
HOW TO MAKE Make 2 pompons from straws (see step-by-step description at the end of the article). Sew stones to the center of the pompons, then sew the pompons to the slippers.

KEYCHAIN
An anchor bent from a wire and twisted with a bright red straw will make a bunch of keys more bright and attractive.
The anchor motive is given at the beginning of the article, next to the photo of the model.
YOU WILL NEED Bright red artificial decorative straw (raffia), steel wire 1.5 mm thick; nippers and pliers; key chain ring with a short chain.
HOW TO MAKE Based on the motive, bend the anchor from the wire, start from point A. The anchor is tightly entwined with straws, the beginning and end of the thread are fixed with a knot on the metal frame. Do not wrap the upper end (ring).
Fasten the end of the chain to the upper end of the anchor (this can be done at the beginning of the work when you just started bending the wire according to the motive).

WITHFLOWERS HAT WITH FLOWERS
Refresh your old hat - multi-colored decorative straws and artificial pebbles will do a miracle with it!
YOU WILL NEED Straw hat; artificial decorative straws (raffia) of bright pink, red, turquoise and orange; various beads; shells and pebbles for sewing; set for the manufacture of 2 pompoms diam. 6.5 and 8.5 cm.
HOW TO MAKE From a pink straw, weave a pigtail approx. 1 cm, length = diam. tulles. Sew a pigtail on a hat, see photo of model.
Make 3 pompons of orange, turquoise and red colors, see the step-by-step description at the end of the article.
Sew beads, shells and pebbles to the center of the pompons, then sew the pompons to the hat.

BASKET CLUB
The former rug turned into a chic summer handbag with felt lining and a real flower garden.
SIZE OK. 32 x 38 cm
YOU WILL NEED Straw mat; a pair of bamboo handles approx. 30 cm; thin purple-pink felt size. 100 x 40 cm; finished cotton tape 2 cm wide, 2.5 m long; gasket halftliz flizofiks; paper; threads for sewing.
For flowers: artificial decorative straw (raffia) of purple-pink, red, turquoise, blue, orange and beige; shells and artificial pebbles for sewing; 2 sets for the manufacture of pom poms diam. 6.5 and 8.5 cm.
HOW TO MAKE From the rug, cut out the outer, from felt - the inner side of the bag 74 cm long, 38 cm wide.
From felt, cut out 2 sides 22 cm long, 10 cm wide.
To make a template out of paper - a semicircle with a radius of 7.5 cm.
Connect the outer and inner parts of the bag with a gasket. Wrap the short sides of the bag inward to a width of 5 cm, use a paper template to cut a semicircle in the middle, and bend the wrapped edges again. Detail of the bag around the edging edge with a hem.
Wrap the short edges inward again, insert the handles and sew the edges under the handles to the lining.
Stitch the sides. To do this, mark 5 cm in both directions from the lower fold of the bag. Long sections of the inner parts from the inside of these marks to their upper edge should be chopped and sewn into the edge.
Finally, stitch the lower ends of the side parts.

Make 8 pompons from straws, see the step-by-step description at the end of the article. Sew shells and pebbles in the center of the pompons, then place the pompons on the front of the bag and sew on.
HOW TO MAKE POMPONS FROM STRAWS
YOU WILL NEED Decorative artificial colored straws (raffia); scissors, set for the manufacture of pompons; sewing threads; suitable needle.
For the decoration of pompons: shells, artificial stones, beads for sewing on.
STEP 1 Curl the coil with straws, then close the coil with a lid, cut the straws in the middle of the edge of the coil.
STEP 2 Before opening the coil, tie the coils of straw in the middle with a knot. Open the coil.
STEP 3 Pompons slightly “unfold” in the middle to sew shells and pebbles.
