So 2014 came and a fabulous New Year's holiday - not only for children, but also for adults. And I want the festive atmosphere to accompany us everywhere - and at home in the first place!
To do this is not difficult, if you call for help a little imagination. After all, to prepare for the celebration of the New Year is not only to dress up the Christmas tree and cook a lot of delicious dishes. This shine, tinsel, garlands, the smell of spruce and pine needles and cones, as well as beautiful desktop compositions ...
And the materials for this will not need so much. Surely most of them you will find in your household. Something can be bought in the store.
Christmas balls are sold in sets, of different colors, and very inexpensively. You can not do without gift ribbons (there are ribbons that, when pulling the inner strips themselves form into bows. Ribbons can be replaced with colorful ribbons of different widths - they will last you more than one season.
We offer you a choice of several ideas for decorating your home and office for the New Year holidays.
GOLDEN CHRISTMAS
Gold color - traditional for the New Year holidays, the color of celebration and joy. Choose accessories in the house in gold color, let it be a decorative Christmas star made of metal or book covers with "golden" roots. If there is a box with a "golden" painting, put it on its side so that the lid is clearly visible. To complete the composition, it remains only to add a gold ribbon and a couple of gold balls.
ANGEL
These charming dolls are designed to bring happiness to the house on their wings. Sewing it with your own hands will not be difficult even for beginners. The pattern is easy to do on your own or use ours: you can also take a description of making the doll using the same link. The wings are sewn on the back of the dress (their pattern can be taken here. The wings can be made of thick cardboard by painting it with (gold) paint or gluing foil on it with gold or another color. You can bend the wire in shape and pull a transparent fabric on it, carefully sewing on the back hem with hidden stitches.You can sew a heart made of thick felt (felt) on the handles, or you can sew a heart made of beautiful fabric and lightly stuffed with cotton wool.
Before stitching a heart, various good wishes can be embroidered on its front side.
And do not forget to sew the eyelet for hanging, because the angels must fly!
Christmas tree in a gift bag
Flower shops and supermarkets often sell potted cypress trees that resemble Christmas trees. Caring for it is simple - put the plant on the window so that direct sunlight does not fall on it, water it very moderately in winter, increase watering in summer. Spray more often if the heaters are nearby or the room is hot and dry.
The plant is unpretentious, so you can carefully cut off several of its lower branches, so that it looks more like a Christmas tree and on New Year's Eve hang light and miniature Christmas tree decorations on its branches. Under their weight, the branches will lower slightly in the horizontal direction and the cypress tree will even more resemble a Christmas tree. But in the morning, after the holiday, toys are better, of course, to take off.
And if you do not have time to buy a festive plant pot, put a plastic pot with a pallet on a square flap of a suitable fabric, then lift the ends up and tighten the drapery around the stem with a beautiful cord.
BOWL BALLS
If you still have Christmas balls after you dressed up the Christmas tree, or you decided this year to do without a forest beauty in your house, beautifully lay the balls on a dish - one or several, and place them in different places in the room.They will immediately create a festive atmosphere in the house. Look at the same time, which balls are better combined with each other, is it worth making a composition of balls of the same size or different, one tone or multi-color, etc.
Santa Claus at the window
... of course, he immediately froze the Christmas tree ... of silver foil. To make such a plant, by the way, you can do it yourself. You will need not too "fluffy" Christmas garland, stick and wire. Insert a stick into a decorative pot with stones or expanded clay (stones are better, because they are heavier and the composition will be more stable). Starting from a certain height, wrap it with pieces of wire - one turn around the stick, and two ends in opposite directions. Take shorter pieces of wire the closer to the top. After that, wrap the wire and part of the stick, entwined with wire, a Christmas garland, fixing its position with glue drops every few centimeters. The surface of the “earth” in the pot is covered with artificial snow or cotton wool (pre-fluff it), sprinkle with silver sequins on top. Lumps of snow or cotton can also be glued to the walls of the pot.
In addition to the artificial Christmas tree, we decorated the winter forest for Santa Claus with a home-made fly agaric from dense painted cardboard with a narrow ribbon on the leg, as well as a cypress in a pot and a composition of mushrooms and cones.
STRAW BASKET
Yes, the most common one - if you paint it with gold or silver paint, it will turn into a wonderful cache-pot for the New Year's composition with an ornamental plant. Of course, the decor will be complemented by several Christmas balls hanging on a beautiful ribbon. And yet - a beautiful ball, as if in a nest, nestled among green leaves.
And if you have an openwork metal container (in the photo in the background), then put a candle inside it - its light will cast a fantastic fluttering pattern around.
COMPOSITION WITH MUSHROOMS AND CONES
A wreath for Christmas is typical of European countries. It symbolizes eternal life, and initially, even in paganism, it was revered as a solar circle, again a symbol of life. They make it from different materials, the simplest - from several turns of wire, onto which short spruce branches, garlands, balls, cones, etc. are attached (woven, inserted).
Making a Christmas wreath with your own hands is not difficult. Choose materials that you like and are suitable for the interior of your home.
In the Catholic religion, wreaths of fir branches are often laid horizontally and four thick candles are inserted into them, each of which is lit in turn on one of the 4 Sunday days of Advent (4 weeks before Christmas).
Next to the wreath, placed vertically, our composition with a candle looks beautiful, which is done very simply: expanded clay, stones, sawdust, etc. are poured into a suitable container, a candle is inserted in the middle and surrounded by cones and Christmas toys so that the bulk material in the pot was completely closed by them. Then the walls of the container are wrapped with a beautiful long napkin and fixed with a tape.
BOUQUET WITH ROSES
To fresh flowers, you can add several branches of pine or spruce covered with artificial hoarfrost. There are sprays on sale that form small lumps of snow on the branches. But it's easier to make frost on your own. To do this, you need a sprayer for indoor plants and a very strong saline solution. They need to spray the branches, allow to dry, then spray again on the other hand, again allow to dry. And repeat the process until you are satisfied with the result.
Of course, a vase of flowers, decorated with pine branches or ate with hoarfrost, in itself will become a luxurious decoration of the house for the holiday. But you can still complement the composition with cones collected in the forest or in the park, they can even be laid out in a vase with fruit.
GIFT PAPER OWN HANDS
If you have to pack a lot of gifts, it makes sense to make packing paper yourself.To do this, you will need a wooden rolling pin and an old mouse pad. Cut different geometric shapes from the rug and stick them on a rolling pin surface in a certain sequence. Figures can be very different - from simple stripes or triangles (as in the photo) to Christmas trees, snowmen, bells, bows, etc.
Now you just need to cover the figures with paint and draw a rolling pin on a sheet of paper.
SMALL SPOOL BUT PRECIOUS
Do you want to impress your beloved by giving her a New Year ring, earrings, pendant and similar jewelry? Wrap the gift box in beautiful paper, tie it with a ribbon and attach it to the back of the animal figurine (this year it is best to take the Horse figurine).

PAPER FIR
Well, you can make this Christmas tree easily from paper or gift ribbons curled on scissors. As a basis, build a cone from cardboard, curling it with a bag, gluing the edges and evenly cutting the base. It is better if the cardboard is initially colored. White cardboard can be painted in different colors or one, or left white. Then, spiral or from top to bottom, fill the surface of the cone with paper spirals. Fix the ends with glue.
