This case also used waterproof material, so the cover will protect the laptop in the bag not only from scratches, but also from water.

The outer part of this cover is made of cotton, the lining is made of waterproof material, between them is a gasket made of thin sheet synthetic winterizer. The cover closes with a magnetic closure. Thanks to the use of a ready-made oblique collar, it is quick and easy to process edges and sew a cover.

Step 1

Having wrapped your laptop in a piece of cloth, determine the dimensions of the cover. Along the length and width, add at least 5 cm to the dimensions of the laptop (more can be, then the excess will be cut off). Cut out the fabric cover part, the lining part and the gasket part are all the same.

Step 2

Fold the details: cover detail face down, gasket detail, lining detail face up.Fasten all layers with pins. Wrap the future case around the laptop to find space for the two parts of the magnetic closure, and mark these points. Then disassemble the sandwich. Sew a piece of dense non-adhesive gasket to the back of the lining, as shown in the photo. Slot and install part of the clasp. Do the same with the second part of the clasp, attaching it to the part of the outer part, previously strengthened by a piece of gasket.

Step 3

Fold all the layers in the same order again, pin them together. Mark the lines for the stitching and quilting the cover (you can skip the stitching step, but it will be better to keep the quilted cover in shape).

Step 4

Focusing on the size of the laptop, trim the excess. On the sides it is better to leave at least 2 cm on each side, and on top of the extra width is not needed.

Step 5

Pin the bias tape to the short, straight edge of the cover and sew.

Step 6

Fold the case, focusing on the size of the laptop. Side seams can be swept away. On the side seams and along the edge of the valve, pin the oblique trim (turn the lower ends inwards) and stitch it, while doing the side seams. Done!
