Life hack: neat applique on knitwear with embroidery paper

Due to the elasticity of the material, making a smooth applique on knitwear can be difficult. Embroidery paper will help ease the task.

If the details of the appliqué and the base are knitted, a tight seam (for example, a zigzag) that sews the appliqué can stretch the elastic material. Avoid this by using a stabilizer. Its role can be played by water-soluble embroidery paper. In our example, the applique from the circles is designed to close the logo on the T-shirt. Be sure to use knitting needles - regular needles can break the threads of the material.

3 ways to mask holes in knitwear

You will need:

- knitted t-shirt and knitwear for applique;

- water-soluble paper for embroidery;

- scissors;

- paper for application templates;

- tailor pins;

- sewing machine and thread;

- a needle for knitwear.

We decorate a knitted T-shirt with a screen print: a master class and ideas

Step 1

Make patterns for the applique from paper and cut out the details of the applique from knitwear (it is better to wash and dry the material before work).

Step 2

Place the appliqué details on the shirt and cut a piece of stabilizer paper of sufficient size.

Step 3

Insert the paper inside and pin it with pins.

Step 4

Sew on appliqué details with a zigzag stitch.

Step 5

Remove paper by washing the shirt.
