A deep neckline in a knitwear is best treated with a one-piece narrow collar. How to do this correctly, consider the example of model 119 from Burda 7/2018:

How to process the neck with a French edging


Step 1

Using a measuring tape, measure the length of the neck.

Step 2

Cut an inlay 2-3 cm shorter than the length of the neck. The width of the inlay is 5 cm, including allowances.

Step 3

Fold the neckline in half with the front side inward. Stitch the ring in short cuts at a distance of 1.5 cm. Cut the seam allowances close to the stitch and iron.


How to process a V-neck in a knitwear


Step 4

Fold the trimming along in half with the seamy side inwards and tailor pins open open sections.

Step 5

Pin the neckline, slightly stretching, to the neckline with the front side to the front side, aligning the open neckline sections with the edge of the stock. Align the seam with one shoulder seam. Sew the take. Cut the seam allowances to a width of 7 mm and trim them together.

Step 6

Unscrew the neckband on the neck, iron the seam allowances on the product. If you wish, you can grind stock.
